Do you know what’s happening on Rodeo Dr?
Ahhhh, Beverly Hills… Stepping on its streets is like stepping into Heaven. There’s always something in the air that makes it different from any other place: luxury, excellence, freedom, peace, community, cleanness, safety, and happiness.
That’s what I felt yesterday (and every time I’m there) when I went to Prada on Rodeo Dr. to pick up a pair of shoes that one of our clients had bought online. Since she lives in Canada, this type of task is something we do for her on a regular basis.
Picture this now! After parking on the structure at Brighton Way, I made my way out onto the street. I made a right to go south on Rodeo Dr., and I noticed (how could I not!) an unexpected art installation on the sidewalk in the shape of a gorgeous green heart balloon!
I love art installations! They change our environment and provoke us to pause and reflect, evaluate art, life, and so much more.
This art installation impacted me like no other. Maybe it was because of the timing. As I read the sign, I noticed that there were hearts all over the street. They each had different colors and shapes, all serving one purpose: to deliver the message “Follow your heart.”
As the artist Mr. Brainwash shared: “The heart is love and you have to follow your heart. It’s the good in all of us. One heart, one love.”
At this moment, I’m going through major life decisions, and you may be going through the same as well. I’ve been told that 2024 is a year of big changes for many of us. And that’s so uncomfortable, isn’t it? I believe uncertainty is the most difficult part. Not knowing if you’re making the right decision by taking that step, even though it sounds so wonderful. It feels like being on top of a cliff. Do you jump and risk it all, or do you stay in your comfort zone, even though “something” (your heart) is telling you to jump?
Another factor is the fear of change. I can tolerate this much better, as I have actually learned to love change throughout the years. Changes, as hard as they are, are always worth it. They are life’s way of telling us we’ve outgrown that part of our lives and that we’re ready for the next phase.
So when I read the words “Follow your heart,” I remembered that that’s actually what I did when I opened my company, Boutique Concierge. Something powerful guided me to put myself out there to help our clients live a much better life. A life with less stress and more time is priceless, and I committed myself to making it happen. To this day, we’ve achieved that mission and continue to do so for all our clientele.
So now I have to do the same. Listen to what my heart (intuition, gut, or whatever you prefer to call it) is asking me to do, and just do it. I know that if I don’t, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life.
I encourage you to do the same. It may be terrifying, so just begin with the first step. Maybe it’s making a call, taking a walk to get clarity, or writing an email. Start slow and small, but be consistent and do something every day. Your heart will guide you every step of the way if you’re open and listen.
